European Puzzle : To be familiarised with European geography and cultures
Participants are tasked with reconstructing the geographic dimension of Europe through the use of a giant puzzle. Owing to the different colours used for the countries, the puzzle symbolically recreates the history of European integration, as well as the frontiers of the Union. In this activity, each student contributes to the building of Europe !
In the second phase , the participants are invited to place a certain number of cultural markers to the European map. At this point, the animator begins a discussion on the oftentimes erroneous clichés such symbols carry. At the end, informative brochures are distributed to the participants (provided the availability of stocks).
Objectives: Teach and promote the cultural and geographic dimensions of Europe to students
Age: starting from 9 years old
Duration: 1h15
Price: 75 € per group with a maximum of 30 students
To the attention of teachers and their students: the puzzle pieces are FRAGILE ! The Robert Schuman European Centre reserves the rights to call on the establishment's insurance in the event of damage (chip, breakage, scratch) to one or more pieces and/or equipment used for the workshop.
