Robert Schuman European Centre - CERS
The intercultural educational service of the Robert Schuman European Centre consists in the creation and running of Europe-themed animations which take place at the Robert Schuman Museum. Altogether, we offer around ten different Europe-themed workshops, as well as outings to over 5,000 young Europeans per year.
The Moselle Eurodepartment, the site’s owner, has contractually entrusted CERS with the educational service of the Robert Schuman House Museum in Scy-Chazelles.
Educational outings are offered to schools, colleges, high schools, universities, youth centers, etc. These are held either on the Scy-Chazelles premises (that also include a guided tour of Robert Schuman's House), or directly in schools and classrooms. Participating groups can select and organise their day according to the ten activities on offer. All activities can be carried out in two languages ââ(French & German /French & English), particularly in cases where workshops are held in the context of merged French/German classes, or joint school visits.
Apart from these educational offers intended for young groups, the Robert Schuman European Centre is also regularly present at events for the general public. As a partner of the European Children's Book Fair in Saarbrücken, for instance, the education department hosts an on-site stand every year to introduce visitors to Europe. In addition, CERS has animated and participated in other European and international events to raise awareness (International Fairs inlude those at Metz and Châlons-en-Champagne, as well as at Rheinland-Pfalz-Tag in Mainz).
